Revamp Your Wardrobe with the Boutiques in Roma
15 January, 2020A Journey Through the Bookstores of Colonia Roma
15 February, 2020Sometimes we might think that Mexico City lacks nothing, precisely because it is possible to find venues of all kinds, such as the art galleries in the Roma neighborhood, which complete a wide range of places worth visiting.
Art galleries are spaces that are especially intended to protect works by plastic, graphic and visual artists, so that the public can get to know them, observe them and, if they are of interest, acquire them.
On the official CDMX Travel website, run by the capital's Tourism Secretariat, it is detailed that Mexican art, until before the Revolution, was influenced by European currents; however, after the revolutionary struggle a new generation of artists appeared.
“The new generation of Mexican artists emerged to give life to a creative sector within the city. Currently, young people are opening galleries with the aim of giving all emerging artists more options to be able to show their work,” says CDMX Travel.
For this reason, it is worth knowing which art galleries in Roma are giving Mexican and even foreign creators the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work.
PROJECTS MONCLOVA

The gallery first opened in 2005, with the goal of becoming an experimental platform mainly for emerging artists. When visiting this site, you will find works by artists of all generations, from Mexico and foreign countries, which are displayed in two showrooms, you will also be able to access a video room displayed in the gallery.

ARRONIZ ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO
If you continue walking towards Insurgentes, on Tabasco Street you will find Arróniz Arte Contemporáneo. This amazing gallery emerged from a particular interest in working with a new generation of artists from Mexico and Latin America. They strive to support and closely follow the careers of our artists both locally and internationally.
Their local programming is comprised of exhibitions of our represented artists, and a parallel presentation in the project room where a specific piece or project – created with the space in mind – is displayed. This allows them to expand their cultural offering to new audiences while working in collaboration with other artists, curators and institutions. Arróniz really is not to be missed.
